iOS 14 battery drain problem: 5 tips on how to solve it

Is your iPhone battery keep draining since you updated to iOS 14? You are not alone. Here are 5 tips that will help you fix the battery issues on your iPhone.
You know how iPhones work, their battery isn’t the best. Although the bigger iPhone variations offer a little extended battery life, in a year or two you’ll notice that your battery starts to drain much more quickly.

Right at the time we were thinking what else could go worse with iPhone batteries, we received the iOS update. It offers amazing features, but it comes at a cost: iOS 14 will eat your battery alive! So now more than ever, it is unfortunately time to think about how to take care of the batteries of our iPhones. Here are 5 tips that may help you to extend the battery life of your iPhone.

1 – Delete photos and videos from your phone gallery with Cleanup app

A messy and cluttered gallery means less storage. And, believe it or not, less storage means a fast draining battery!

To free up some storage on your iPhone, you can start by using a photo cleaner app. Cleanup is one of the most efficient gallery cleaner apps that will help you to clean and organize your gallery in no time!

2 – Lower The Screen Brightness

The brightness level of your screen is a real battery consumer even though you don’t think it should spend that much energy while just regularly browsing, but nay nay. This is the most common reason for phones to run out of battery that we keep ignoring even though we know that it sucks the life out of our batteries.

Just lower that brightness, or turn on the automatic adjustment and just give your iPhone a chance to sort itself out.

3 – Turn Off Siri Assistant

Whether or not turning on listening for Siri absorbs that much power has been a discussion for a long time. But keep in mind that the low power mode of your iPhone automatically turns off listening, so it may be worth a shot to turn off Siri if your phone runs out of battery really quickly since when it’s turned on your phone is constantly listening impatiently for you to utter those magic words to pop into action.

4 – Cancel the Auto Background Refresh of the Apps that you don’t use frequently

On smartphones (especially iPhones) apps keep refreshing in the background even when you’re not using them and this drains a lot of battery. So to limit unnecessary apps from refreshing in the background, go to Settings / General on your phone and tap Background App Refresh. You can either turn off background app refresh entirely or choose unnecessary apps to prevent them from refreshing on this page.

5 – Use Low Power Mode

Low Power (Battery Saving) Mode has been a thing for a really long time that we just don’t use for some reason. Are you ignoring it out of laziness or are just unaware we don’t know, but we do know that it is super useful in preserving battery life. It limits some features like email fetch, auto-downloads, sets auto-lock to 30 second and disables Hey Siri in order to extend your iPhone’s battery life. To turn it on just go to your Settings and then tap on Battery.
